The Authority of Jesus Christ.

Christmas is coming, I know this because the Halloween displays are up.

Of all the days of the year when we should say "Wow!" and sing hymns, is Christmas.
Christmas should be a joyous devotional. Prophesy of a Virgin Birth. The Chaldeans came to town knowing exactly what was up. Herod knew he was doomed. John the Baptist led the way. First-born presented at the Temple. Fled to Egypt. All predicted beforehand. Wow!

The one day we fill our church, the snowbirds back; their families come to visit grandmas' swimming pools in December.
(To be fair, we fill the place for funerals too, those are Saturdays, though)
A day of birth and rebirth, yesterday the church family had a baby that will be three months old for Christmas, we always seem to have a Nativity baby ready to go. Tune up the cowboy gospel choir.

But, always a but. First we have to endure Disney Halloween and Disney Christmas. The mockers.
I am fed up to here with zombies. Was Lazarus a zombie?
No, he passed the second time as the Bishop of Malta
on his tomb: Here lies Lazarus, died twice.
What a witness!

My father-in-law died the week before Christmas, 1998.
Two Christmas Eves ago Rose's grandson died.
We have a few in the church that might not make Christmas this year.

What makes the unbearable bearable?
The Authority of Jesus Christ, that Baby.
