    Old 1800's Long-Range spotting scope

    This is a late 1800's Scelsi French 36x spotting scope. These were used for Long-Range 1000 meter matches. But during WWI they were also used on the battle fields to spot for artillery units.
    Mine came with the typical standing tripod for Long-Range matches, like Creedmoor, but also with a rare table top tripod as was used during WWI to keep the spotter lower so he wouldn't be so likely to be shot!

    You’ve shown that before, Vall, and it still makes me drool! It sure looks great with the same vintage Ballard… should be perfect for beating the Irish and British at long range matches at Sea Girt, Creedmoor, Wimbledon and Dolleymeade.
