    Any interest

I'm ready with the yankee dollars for a plain base version in a brass four cavity from Old West Bullet Moulds.

    Anybody else?

    Thumbs up

Hullo All, I would like one of each, I agree that I also do not want to wait for LEE...

Has anyone thought about proposing this to MiHec ??
He is making some .45-200gr HP mould for some of us right now and we are talking a few weeks, not months.

He says he can make up to 6 cavity if we want. He is posted under the Group Buy
for the 45/200 hp...you might want to look at what he is doing.. at any rate he will be shipping to us before to long and we can look at his work.

He has been very accommodating IMHO

Boomer , what would be the possibility of redoing your 434-330GC but this time make it a tad bigger so it drops at 330 grains ?

I like the first one just fine but it drops with WW alloy at 310-315 for me !

The 310-350 range in a 444 is a fun range to work with

Is this project still breathing? I'm in for a mold. Now as to which mold, I think I'd like a plain base brass mold from Old West but I'd go along with a Lee but that wait time is a killer... If I ended up with a 6C Lee with gas check cavities, I'd have 3 or 4 of them converted to plain base. Even in a .44 Mag rifle, you aren't going to get 275 grain bullets going fast enough to need gas checks.

I count at least a dozen buyers here. Lets get this thing going.

I got in on the first GB with the GC version and for the .444 Marlin's it is my go to bullet. Pushed hard with IMR3031 and sized to .432 this bullet will easily out do any factory ammo for accuracy. A close second is the Ranch Dog TL 265Gn bullet.

I would think Lee should start catching up sometime soon. I am not giving up on them yet.

My Aunt sent me all my late Uncles molds on Friday, three boxes full and there is one in there from the original group buy. I already have one and love it, very accurate so this extra one is surplus to my needs. I would like to trade it for the 434330-GC that Boomer Mikey ran a couple of years ago http://castboolits.gunloads.com/showthread.php?t=15734 or I guess I could just sell it.

Would be interested in a PB mold at .434" if we could come in at about 220 grains. Have no need for a heavy bullet for informal target shooting with a S&W M24.

Could run them in our five cavity moulds.
With three P.B. and two G.C. or any combination.
Get a drawing together and give it a try.

It looks to me like there isn't enough interest in any single design to get an order of at least 20-25 molds. Out of the last 6 group buys I've ran we didn't make the 25 order mark 4 times and I'm tired of the paperwork and hassle of waiting a year for Lee.

Anyone that wants to run a buy for the 434640GC or PB and/or 434330GC has my blessing to run with it as long as 45 2.1 likes the idea; the designs are his intellectual property.

MiHec's work looks very good and I've ordered one of his 453 Cramer style molds. There's a 300 - 315 grain 640 style 44/444 MiHec feeler, 429640 MiHec feeler and 41 mag MiHec feelers in process... maybe those will meet your needs.

I don't have any personal interest in dealing with Lee Precision at this time or any time in the near future.

I hope you find what you want,
