J-frame Grip That Doesn't Interfere with Speedloaders

One of the first things that I did upon receiving my S&W Model 60 and 63 was put matching Altamont Bateleur grips on them. I can shoot them better this way, they conceal well, and look like they're ready for a fancy BBQ. My wife loves them:

On the 22LR, I couldn't ask for anything better. However, on the 357, the grip interferes with extraction and I kind of have to convince the brass to come out a bit at a time. No possible way to quickly do anything, and attempting to use a speedloader gives one the same feeling as attempting to navigate modern health insurance. I know that the likelihood of needing to do a rapid reload in a real defense situation is very very slim, but it gets in the way during practice too. Just doesn't feel right.

If I sand these things down, am I going to have to make a deal with the devil to match a stain color and varnish sheen?

Does anybody sell similar grips that are relieved so they don't interfere with basic function of the gun?

Have you contacted the maker to see what they have to say?

Knowledge I take to my grave is wasted.

I prefer to use cartridges born before I was.

Success doesn't make me happy, being happy is what allows me to be successful.

I use Hogue Bantams, but they aren’t going to impress at the BBQ.

Both of my J-frames wear Crimson Trace laser grips. The compact ones that resemble boot grips. IIRC, CT offers three different sizes. No issues with H&K Speed loaders. If you want to keep your grips unaltered. Try the Bianchi Speed Strips. I prefer them over the H&K because they lay flat in the pocket. Zeta6 also offers a rubber type that is another option that might solve your grip issue. I use the ones designed specifically for the LCR.

The easiest way to determine that would be to remove the left grip panel and sand/etc a portion of the inside of the grip to see what you get.

Hogue on a round butt S&W 631 in 32 magnum, Herrett on a S&W 32 long square butt and another set of Hogues on a S&W 63 22 L.R., these all work with HKS speed loaders.

I have, but haven't heard back yet. I don't feel like complaining particularly loudly, because they never claimed they were compatible with speedloaders. They have a Combat grip series that looks like it might feel similar in the hand and I asked if they suffered the same clearance issues. We shall see.

VZ Grips. Does the trick for my Scandium J-frame. Be aware they are made for concealment and not “hand filling".
