    WTS: Linotype lead *SALE!

Monotype lead that has been sorted to remove the spacers which from what I've read normally are softer. Melted, generously fluxed and poured into Redneck gold ingots. Boxes range in weight from 20.8 to 21.6lb. Will start with heavy ones.
I can also ship 3 of these in 1 medium flat rate box. I am dropping the price. For those people who say that I should have left them AS IS so that you know what you're getting. I can assure you that you're getting the real deal and clean lead without the dross and misc. scrap that was there. I spend several days processing it and frankly, I rather sold it as is but from a logistics point of view these bars fit nicely in the SFRB and you get more weight that way in the small box.

The price comes out to about $2.20/lb before shipping.

    Box 1 - 21lb +/- 0.4lb $55 shipped SOLD/shipped to WAsalmonslayer
    Box 2 - 21lb +/- 0.4lb $55 shipped SOLD/shipped to WAsalmonslayer
    Box 3 - 21lb +/- 0.4lb $55 shipped Sold locally CompeteX
    Box 4 - 21lb +/- 0.4lb $55 shipped Sold locally CompeteX
    Box 5 - 21lb +/- 0.4lb $55 shipped Sold, shipped David S
    Box 6 - 21lb +/- 0.4lb $55 shipped Sold, shipped Zymguy
    Box 7 - 21lb +/- 0.4lb $55 shipped Sold, shipped Andy45
    Box 8 - 21lb +/- 0.4lb $55 shipped Sold, shipped Andy45
    Box 9 - 21lb +/- 0.4lb $55 shipped Sold, shipped Rick1985
    Box 10 - ~63lb $155 shipped SOLD/shipped to Caliboose

You're right, I did some Googling and it is indeed Monotype as in separate letter blocks rather than lines. I am just used to everyone calling it "Linotype" but you're right.

I melted down a very similar mixture of type, and had it analyzed by BNE. It came to be pb-72% Sb 19 % Sn 8.5% cn .5 %. If yours is similar then your price is very good.

I've been meaning to send BNE a sample to get tested for a while if he still does that. I am glad he popped in here and commented.
According to LASC monotype should be 28 BHN and that is the number that I actually saw (plus/minus) when I tested with Lee hardness tester.
