    Facilitated sale of 03 Springfield

Family acquaintance says he has a rifle in the closet he wants to get rid of.... (circa 2000)

    High number nickel steel receiver.

    High Standard replacement barrel.

A Sedgly aluminum buttplate... not USGI.

This rifle stood in a closet for decades. Electropenciled number did not match and fell into the low range for bolts.

The bolt fell into the range that were taken out of service and replaced with the slightly back-bent bolt handle with improved metallurgy. I bought a new O3A3 bolt body for $20 and discounted the price $50 to $450. (circa 2000). I have headspace gauges for 06 and the 03A3 bolt didn't close on a no-go so it was good to go.

It was a good solid rifle.
