Great Deal on Win M22 ammo: 503 1/2 rounds :)

I like to take my ammo to the range in 100 round plastic boxes-- so I opened up a brand new box of 500 rounds Win M22. 503 rounds plus one very nice shiny, properly primed, empty case. No leftover powder or bullet in the box-- just this nice primed case.

What the heck can you do with a primed 22 LR case??

Just push the case down into the wax till it bottoms out, then tilt it to break the wax off.
    No powder needed.

I'd be interested to hear how it shoots for you.
I bought 2 boxes last winter that had about 20% duds. 4:45PM Friday afternoon batch??? I couldn't get them to fire no matter how many times I re-chambered them. Winchester had me send the ammo to them for testing. They were good about compensating me for them so I have no complaints there.

jimlj, Did Winchester ever tell you what was wrong with the ammo? I’ve been shooting 22lr for over 60 years. Maybe my memory is failing but I don’t recall ever having FTF issues with any 22 lr ammo (except the steel case Russian stuff that was around in the late 60’s) like I’ve experienced in the past decade. Nowadays, IMO, the manufacturers of the halfway reasonably priced rimfire ammo seem to be saying FTFs aren’t uncommon and should be expected.

I've already fired about 400 of this box of Win M22-- not a dud yet

Not a word on the cause of the failures. I'd probably shot about 300 rounds from one of the boxes. I thought it may be a gun problem, but I got the same failure rate from 3 different 22's.
I too have been shooting 22lr for over 60 years and don't remember the duds as a kid. Seems all brands now days have a dud or two.

Hick, good to hear you aren't having problems.
