When I got started I could not find unique, so I learned to use HP-38, Win 231 and Titegroup. Everything from 223 through 30-06, 303 British and 7.65 Argentine.

I'm relooking Reloader 7 for rifles and have recently gotten good results in 6.5x55 and .405 WCF.

That being said, Unique and 2400.
I also favor SR4759 and lament its passing. Luckily I have a good stash. After that, it is hard to go wrong with Ed Harris's "The Load" 13 grains of Red Dot

I load a dozen rifle cartridges between .222 Rem up to .45 Colt. For me, I don't think there is such a thing as "one powder".

Lyman cast bullet handbook powders. It is surprising sometimes what it has. Just using what’s on hand according to this reference. So neat to have powder on hand that will work. God bless you all.

I used IMR3031 exclusively for years in 30 cal rifles with jacketed bullets. Lately found that the only powder my 30-06 likes with cast boolits is H4895. When I tried the usual route of IMR4064, it patterned like a shotgun.

By the time 5744 hit town, I had already become involved with 2400 and WW-748. 5744 seemed interesting, but it was half again as expensive, and not as readily available in my neck of the woods.
If I could only have one for cast, it would be 2400. But for full power in the 30-30 and my 308 jacketed, 748 is my preference.
