as said have fun start pouring some and get a hang of the techniques that work for you and then throw any that are NOT perfect back into the pot set your standards high and you will always have accurate bullets. Some guys use not perfect ones in handgun as practice round. ME I like to have only 1 load and not have to worry about what box I grab. But yeah at 25 yards unless the bases are really bad (The base steers the bullet) most of them will shoot 3-4 inches, Me im such a lousy shot I need al the help I can get. And shoot only bullets that are as good as can cast which is about plus / minus .5% variance in weight.

That look on your face, when you shift into 6th gear, but it's not there.

A note on the tinsel fairy:

Everything you add to the molten lead ..... a stir spoon, a wooden stick, another hunk of lead or the reverse, an ingot mold you pour molten lead into MUST be pre-heated to chase the moisture out of it BEFORE you perform the intended operation.

All the objects that you will introduce to molten lead or introduce lead to contain enough moisture to cause a steam explosion unless you pre-heat them first. It might look like a solid to you but there is enough pore space to get you “decorated”.
