stock and handguard for 1892 SRC

I'm looking for a decent stock and handguard for my SRC. I've looked at Winchester Bob, Homestead Parts, Ebay, and Brownell's. Precision Gun Stocks seems to be the most reasonable and say their products require very little fitment and they have good customer reviews. Anybody else out there have experience with them?

Is yours an original Winchester? If so, I wonder if wood from a Rossi would work? The stock and forend on mine are certainly serviceable enough, no worse than the average econo grade 94 or 336.

The Rossi stock is slightly different where the tang slides into the stock. I am trying to fit a Rossi stock to a Win 92 and it looks like it can be done ok. I don't know about the forearm as I don't have one.

there is this outfit that breaks guns down and sells them without any part that has a serial number. found this by searching for
    winchester repair parts
    on gun broker
they post new listings every week and you never know what will show up
Boyds is another place for stocks that used to be real good

    .

FWIW, only muskets have a handguard, the carbines had forearm's.

IME, although these guns were made on a production line, any replacement wood may or may not need some fitment for a clean installation.

Mea Culpa, Mea Culpa. I've spent too much time with plastic rifles. Thanks.
