I've been going through a series of 45 Colt molds to see what my Ruger FT .45 Colt prefers (FWIW, I've settled on Arsenal's 45-250RF as a go-to).
1. First up is an RCBS 45-270SAA, part #82092. This mold is a little dirty but in like-new condition. Like most RCBS molds, it drops top quality bullets almost every pour. I'm selling it because it produces a .455" bullet from range scrap and I'm getting too much distortion in the lube-sizing step. Also, the nose length is just a little too long for comfort in my mid-frame Ruger's cylinder. It's a honey of a mold, just a little to large for my purposes.
Will sell for $90 shipped via USPS Priority Flat Rate Medium.
2. Second up is a five cavity, aluminum, ACCURATE clone of the RCBS bullet. The nose is a little shorter and this one drops bullets around .453" with range scrap. I found this mold to be too cantankerous to keep. I think it's not vented enough as it's a struggle to get all five to fill out. Could be my technique or alloy? The mold is scratched along the outside where the LEE mold guide rides and it's dirty but has no damage other than a modest amount of normal wear.
Will sell for $90 shipped via USPS Priority Flat Rate Medium.
3. Third up is a LEE 45-255RF six cavity. This one drops right at .452" and started right in producing top quality bullets. It fits my revolver just fine and shot great with 8gr Green Dot but I prefer the Arsenal to this bullet so no reason to keep the mold. There's some peening in the aluminum near one of the alignment pin holes (see left side in pic) and I battled a little galling at the sprue hold-down slot (typical LEE issue). Otherwise, all cavities are like new and this is an easy mold to use.
Will sell for $50 SOLDshipped via UPSP Priority Flat Rate Medium.
First post of interest here or via PM gets the item. I'm willing to combine with anything in my other active sales but please post on both threads if interested and PM for final cost. Thanks
