Anybody here own a set of RCBS dies in 32 Long from the 1980s or so? If so, can you tell me if the seating die is capable of crimping a 32 Short or is it too deep?

Mine are carbide and came in the grey plastic box. I got them used, but I’m guessing they’re too new for you, right?

I don't know but am just curious if the crimp "ring" is too deep for .32 Short, the brass of which is only about .600" long.

You can always call RCBS and ask them.
I have a set of RCBS dies from mid 80's for 32 Long/32 ACP w/ different expander stem for each. They will not crimp 32 S&W. I have used the size die sans decapper to give a little crimp. FWIW Regards, Woody

As I recall, the Lee set we have is marked 32 ACP/32 S&W/32S&WLong/32H&RMag
I have loaded all 4... but... do Not recall the crimp set-up for S&W... Will check in next couple days!!
Edit... Joys of Turret Press, one bolt and Checking... No.. These will Not Roll crimp a 32S&W... Long and H&R Mag??? Yup
IDK how anyone decided this seating die was gonna do much of anything except seat a Bullet on a 32ACP???

My Lee die set will crimp the short one. Might see if a .32 ACP die will crimp enough for you needs.
Interesting... is the set marked for 32H&RMag??

Thank you, I just ordered a set and got free shipping with adding enough items to get it over the $49 minimum. That's about as cheap as a person is going to find for a set of these, I think.
I used my Lee 32 ACP seater die to crimp the handful of 32 S&W cartridges I have loaded.

Midway USA had the correct dies for around $41 or so, and free shipping on orders of $49 and above. So I added a couple of items to get over $49 and everything arrived in the mail yesterday. Thank you everyone for your input.
