    2400 Powder with Jacketed Bullets

Hey guys, I've been re-reading C.E. Harris's article on Cast bullet loads for military rifles. ( https://castboolits.gunloads.com/sho...Rifles-Article ), and I have a question.

I have used the sixteen grains of 2400 load before (and the 17 gr IMR-4227 load), and I really liked it. This load is actually backed up by some of my Lyman manuals. My question is, can you use this load with jacketed bullets as well?

My manuals don't give pressures for the 2400 loads, but Gordons Reloading Tool shows me a pressure of about 30,000 PSI with cast and about 33,000 PSI with a comparable jacketed bullet and a velocity of about 1,800 fps either way. Economy-wise that beats about 30 grains of H380 for nearly the same velocity.
