    The sweet spot

I am looking for a book on the best place to put a boolit into all type of creatures and to instruct others that are learning. We think we know the sweet spot, but bison hunting in Alaska requires that you to take a short class. I am sure this is the same for big game hunting in Africa.

My co-worker drew a bison tag for the Delta herd and brought one home.
(7mm WinMag: one shot, one bison)
He said the difficult part was getting the herd to move away,
because they had gathered around their fallen comrade.
He only had one tag and a lot of angry bison.

I've taken the bison class, never could draw a ticket.
    Good luck hunting!

When I cleaned my first blackbuck I was really surprised where the heart was located. It was much farther forward than that of a whitetail, at the front of the chest cavity and just forward of the front legs when standing upright.

I did some research 20 years ago before I went to Africa and was surprised to find how the innards of some were constructed. Never did have a conclusive or unified resource.

On my first trip to Africa I was given a copy of "the perfect shot" by my Ph. It shows shot placement and anatomy of most of the common african game animals. There's a second book for shot placement on dangerous game as well. Came in very handy. And yes, African game's vitals are placed somewhat differently than north american game.

Guess what, I found a book after much looking called "The Perfect Shot North America" by Craig T Boddington Safari Press Inc. ISBN 978-1-57157-267-7 A great read and a great help for shot placement.
