    Pin Gauge Question

I am looking for Pin Gauges that have one end ground flat on two sides more like a thick blade. What are they called and where can I order them. I can find normal pin gauges but I want to test a hole to see if it is oval.

That's what they make dial bore gauges for. A dial bore gauge will measure the amount of eccentricity, not just confirm the existence of it. A snap gauge will confirm whether a hole is round or egged simply by the inconsistent resistance of turning it once set.

If you can see light through the hole, a standard pin gage will let you observe light passing by the gage pin where the hole is larger. It will also wiggle more in one direction than another, but these methods won't measure the amount of eccentricity.

This is for a .3 ish hole and I don't want to trust my eyesight. I am looking to make a go no go gauge setup.
