Tagged this guy last night along with the doe he was chasing. Shot him first and the doe stopped and looked at him. Can't say I'm proud of it, but I took a Texas heart shot on the doe. The 358 was up to the task. Shattered the femur and still penetrated all the way through the heart. It really didn't make too much of a mess at all in the gut cavity. Found the bullet laying in the chest cavity. Haven't weighed it yet but excellent expansion and almost certainly better than 50-60% weight retention. Load was the Lee 200 cast from 49-49-2 Pure, clip on wheel weights, and pewter over enough RL7 for 2300 fps. Rifle was a Ruger American. Between the doe my son shot the night before and these two, we should be eating good for a while!
