    Happy Birthday Marines

    On this day:
We celebrate 245 years of tradition and obnoxious pride, totally unhampered by progress.

My neighbor, out here in rural central Texas is a Marine vet who served in the early 60s. This morning I called him and invited him over to my range.

With my Marine Corps flag flying over the range, I handed him my M-1 rifle and several clips full of Greek surplus ammo and told him to "have at it, Marine" as I pointed downrange to my full size IPSC AR-500 target!

He hadn't shot an M-1 since 1963 but he kept all his rounds in a "dinner plate" right at COM. from 50 yards.

I told him that we should do this every November 10 for as long as we can. He agreed with a huge grin on his face.

Happy 245th to all my Marine Brothers! Semper Fi, Treetop

Semper Fi to my fellow Marines. Nuff said, anything else would be misunderstood by those who are not.
