    Traditions Shenandoah .36 rifle

I may have found a traditions Shenandoah rifle in .36 locally. Seller says unfired. 200 roundball and a mold. Asking 500.00.

That doesn't seem like too bad of a deal compared to the Pedersoli Cub kit I just purchased.

If I were looking for a small bore, I'd be all over it. I love the .36 cal. Let us know if you snap it up. If you've never small game hunted with bp, you haven't lived.

    .

You could offer the seller a bit less, but IMHO it's already a good buy.

I am planning paying asking price. I've been wanting a small caliber muzzleloader.

Good luck on getting the .36 along with the RB's and the mold. Good caliber for squirrel hunting. I have T/C Seneca in .36 caliber that came with a T/C maxi-ball mold.

It's always good to get a better price, but like has been said, $500 aint too bad. I'd do it. .36 has been my favorite bp cal. I always had good luck with 20gr fff, though most seem to load hotter. 5 rounds touching with that load at 25 yards, as far as I can head shoot a squirrel anyway.

I'm not going to haggle over price. Thanks for the load you using. Can't wait to learn what it likes. I'm hoping hunt cottontail rabbits with it.

I never used it for cottontail, but now you have my juices flowing. One thing for sure, everything tastes better seasoned with black powder. I am sure you will enjoy. I used a tight heavy denim patch with a .350 home cast ball, lubed with mink oil. You are gonna have fun, for sure.

My Shenandoah had a ring in the barrel that the scuz seller somehow neglected to mention.
So it got rebored to a .46 to shoot revolver ball.
.36 or .46, I think you'll fall in love with it.
Think I'll refinish mine soon when the nights are long and frozen winds are howling.
