I really don't have a favorite boolit to cast. I cast for Rifle and pistol and love casting for both. I shoot almost as many cast Rifle as I do Pistol. I haven't shot any Jacketed in a long time. My favorite Rifle caliber is 38-55. My favorite Pistol caliber is 44 Mag. I shoot a lot of 30-30, and 45-70 along with a lot of 45 Colt single action, 357 Mag and a single shot Contender in 223 14"

Lots of memory lane posts here. I started casting in 1971 when I started shooting bullseye pistol. I had been reloading pistol a shotgun for 6-7 years. Mostly learned on my own by reading everything I could and had a gunsmith friend who answered questions. Today I cast for pistol and 3 rifles and find myself turning on the furnace when I need some quiet no-brainer time in the reloading room. I have found multi-cavity molds and old age require some ibuprofen once the casting session goes past an hour or so. Happy casting!

I started casting at 8yrs old, 1Cav RB for my Dad's old Colt Navy. Dipper casting using a Coleman stove. About a year later I progressed to a 1cav 9mm mold.
After the service I started My own setup in 1975.

    I HATE auto-correct

Happiness is a Warm GUN & more ammo to shoot in it.

I am 65, been at it since I was 20. My gear has changed but I do still enjoy casting sessions.

I began casting in 1968, now at 80 my health has failed, I can still cast but can't really shoot much now. With the inventory of CB's I already have, not much room to cast.

Cast and loaded my first in the late 70's. Most of my firearms get an exclusive diet of cast. the faster centerfires do get condoms though. If I could figure out how to get cast to shoot 3000 fps I'd be all over it like a chicken on a junebug
It don't make much sense that commonsense don't make no sense nomore
