For Thought and Meditation - Sunday, August 08

Good morning all. I had to read this twice before it sank in. Good message. Have a safe and blessed day.

    Today's Scripture - Hagee Ministries

    Mark 9:23

Jesus said to him, "If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes."

What we believe determines how we behave. The things that we hold true drive our actions.

Why do people go to the gym to exercise? Because they believe that the physical activity will benefit their bodies and minds. That belief motivates their actions…in spite of sore muscles or slow results.

Our outward behavior, more than any other tell, signifies what we believe on the inside. When our words say one thing, but we fail to act on what we say, it is the lack of action that betrays our true beliefs. “They profess to know God, but in works they deny Him…” (Titus 1:16).

We who confess Christ as our Savior sometimes falter at reading what we believe and believing what we read. We profess that the Bible is inspired by God and is profitable for instruction in righteousness, doctrine, reproof, and correction (2 Timothy 3:16), but internally, we do not fully believe what it says and do not embrace it as the God-breathed Word of our Creator.

We are drowning in information overload – inundated with social media, TV news, radio chat, and newspapers. If we are not vigilant, our inward beliefs begin to develop based on accepting what we read…rather than reading what we believe.

Let’s determine to believe what Jesus says – and nothing else. May our actions confirm what we profess. If we can believe, all things are possible.

    Blessing:

May the Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord make His face to shine upon you and be gracious unto you and give you His peace. May you store up the riches of God’s Word in your heart. May it shape your beliefs and impact your behaviors. May you become more and more like your Father in thought and deed. In Jesus’ name…amen.
Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe, in order to assure the survival and the success of liberty.

Way back when the computer programmers had a statement - GIGO - garbage in, garbage out. The same thing applies to our minds. Be careful and conscious of what you are putting into your mind. Bad dreams? What have you put into your mind lately?
