    MY LGS got primers!

My SIL told my he saw primers in our LGS so I went to check it out. They had CCI small rifle bench rest, and small rifle magnum only and they were 125$ a thousand. I let'em keep'em. I'd pay that if I was out, as in, had NONE but I'm not.

At $125 per thousand, I will just do without.

125 per brick isnt too bad. I would pay about hundred. I prefer 45 bucks a brick but that was whole sale price from a private club.

If you are low, then that is a good price since they are selling for as much as $150/1000. If you aren't low and are just looking to get a supply cushion, I'd wait.

I currently have factory primers; also playing with a variety of "Primer Reloading" efforts I have posted on Cat Bolts. At $125.00 per thousand I would accept the "Misfire/NonFire" I experienced in my testing phases and reload my primers. Using Toy Gun Caps it would be about 1 cent per primer (if one only ordered 1200 caps) or $10.00 per thousand (Plus your Time). I would see a similar price for using Prime All mixture to reload primers.

I have sufficient primers I can reload and shoot recreationally for quite some time - but if primers do not become available at a price similar to the previous range 12 months ago in the next year; then I would migrate to more and more shooting with "Reloaded Primers" - saving my horde for load development etc.. where "Firm Data" is needed; particularly when comparing to published reloading data.

I have enough to last another season or two. And I think 6 months from now things will be well on the way to normal. I expect the price will settle at $50-$60. That is unless uncle potatoe head Joe throws a shoe in the works......

A guy posted on another forum that Brownell’s has spp for $75 a thousand. I haven’t checked it as I am good still.
Due to the price of primers, warning shots will no longer be given!

It is a good sign that at least they are getting on the shelves. Prices will come down if you are not desparate.

I know guys paying $200+ so that would be a bargain for them. IT is still too high, but those thinking we are going back to $30/K in bulk, aint gonna happen. I expect the new normal to be around $40 per. Its called inflation, thank Joe.

I quit buy-in last year when prices rose to $42 to $45 for 1000; then they simply disappeared.

    STOP PAYING THE OUTRAGEOUS PRICES!!!!!!!!

Primers were $28/1K last year. Manufacturers have had a 15% increase. So that puts them at $32.20. One local store has Sr an so for $60/1K and they have not moved in a month.

Until the majority of folks leave them on the shelves it will never get back to even near normal.

My local Dunham Sports has Large Pistol Primers for $80 per thousand. They have had them for a couple of weeks now. This is in Bartlesville, OK.

Not primers, but found some 6.5 Hornady 123 ELD-M at Academy the other day for $44.95 I don't have a pressing need for any so passed. The price was about a $10.00 jump from 2019. I figure they're coming in now so maybe the prices will drop a little, I'll wait and see.
