    S&W 32 long

Purchased a s&w 632-1 comp pro recently in 327 federal looks like it hasn't been shot. Couldn't find and brass for 327 or h&r 32 mag but did round up some 32 long and a set of lee dies. Had some jhp (I know) but really wanted to shoot it but couldn't find any good loads I figured I could really trust for 32 long. Have a lee 311-93 so made up some 10 to 1 and cast up some to get her going. Lyman has a couple loads for that bullet and lead combo some figured I'd go with that. I'd really like to try to get around 800 for but don't really want to go max loads with this beautiful revolver. I have red dot bullseye unique and a few other powder s. Most are listed in Lyman book except for red dot. So what are some favorite loads you guys use. Mostly looking for accuracy guess fps really doesn't matter for starters. Could use some h&r 32 mag brass but really want some 327 federal if anyone has some extra! Shoot me a price. Thanks!

I found that bullet to drop a little small from the mold for my mod 30. Lapping has been a big help. Check for leading frequently since your chamber is for .327 and not 32 S&W Long. About .28" more freebore.

A long - nosed bullet seated out in the .32 S&W Long case to reduce jump gives good accuracy. In strong, post-1960 steel frame .32 S&W Long and Colt New Police revolvers or others chambered for the .32 H&R Magnum I load Ideal #3118 115 grain FN .32-20 bullet crimped in top lube groove with 3 grains of Bullseye or 8.5 grains of IMR4227 for about 900 fps @ est ~22,000 psi. Don't exceed 2.5 grains of Bullseye or 7.5 of IMR4227 in the Colt Cobra or other light alloy frames.

I have used Red Dot loads as small as 2.1 grains with the same Lee 93 you have. Very mild plinkers although mine were the pc version. Not sure if that will meet your 800 fps criteria. Also used that load with a commercial 100 grain FN. Since I was shooting these out of an H&R with a horrible trigger, accuracy is a relative term. I'm sure your Smith can do better.

So was in garage resealing a crosman 140 so fired up the pot since it was setting out from yesterday. Cast up a few and did some powder coating. They now run .314 to .315 so now going to order a lee .314 sizer unless I have one for my lubramatic but don't think so. Have a Winchester in 32-20 so can't have enough bullets.Click image for larger version.

    Maybe this will help:

I shot the Lee 90gr SWC - the tumble lube one, in a 6" Taurus 32 Long.

2gr Promo gave me 850 fps. Good accuracy too.
I have some loaded with 1.8gr Promo, but haven't yet shot them.
