    Are these pipe joints?

As mentioned in another thread, I have been cutting up some lead pipe given to me by a plumber friend.

Came across these in one of the boxes. Are these also tin rich joints or just plain lead?

The tin rich joints would be lead pipe that looks like a snake swallowed a rat.

OK thanks, one more question. I have some thinner walled pipe and some thicker. All the same stuff?

From all of the lead pipe I have seen, yes. As close to pure as you will find in scrap lead.

All of it I've ever seen was about as pure Lead as you'll ever see, but it is dirty.
In the melt, a lot of dirt will float up.

Do a quickie search for 'Lead and oakum sewer pipe joints' images.
You'll see pictures of where those came from.
