I was wondering if any had any experience with the Lee 160 grain .314 diameter boolit in the 7.62x54r and or the 7.62x39 loaded with Unique powder, If what loads worked for you.

My M39 likes both the Lee C312-155 and C312-185 with 10-12 gr. Unique either as cast or sized to .311.

    7.e5 Swiss loads

I have some lyman 291, Lee 185 RN .312 sized....Need to get some brass. Norma too expensive for me, was thinking of Grafs Privpartan, loaded Wolf ammo in 7.5 Swiss with boxer priming or using 284 Win brass (which I hear is thick and durable too) Will I have to anneal the 284 brass in this operation..??afish4570

I've got around 150 rounds of 7.5x55 formed from new .284 Win. without annealing and have experienced no problems with case necks after 4 or 5 loadings. One thing that I have learned, though, is to trim the cases after initial forming and after first firing, and trim again once the shoulder is fire-formed to the rifle's chamber.

Hi Charlie, thanks for the response. I have to ask, what is the M39 referred to in your response. I'm assuming a finnish mosin-nagant, but I want to make certain what caliber you are reffering to.
    Thanks again, Mike

    Mike,
You are correct, it is a Finn M39 in 7.62X54R.
