    Thermal Imaging Scope

    .

Thermal imaging scopes have come a long way from the little suitcases atop a rifle - they're now about the same size as a regular variable scope.

A friend of mine just bought this Pulsar Thermal scope, and forwarded this video to me of taking 25 coyotes.

I prefer the bang flops. Even though they are pest I still feel bad when I see them dance around in pain and fear.

So how much do you have to pay for a decent one of those scopes these days?

    .

My friend is into them deeply, and told me that much lower quality thermal scopes run around $2.5K-$3K.

The Pulsar Thermion XG-50 cost him a little under $6K

i bought a leupold monocular last summer. I works ok but i thought it would work better for recovering deer we shoot in crop damage season. But it usually warm then and even trees show up and any foliage or tall grass like oats block it. It works great though when its cold and theres snow on the ground but then tracking deer with snow is pretty easy anyway. biggest problem for us is when where shooting deer theres crops. If it was after they were harvested it would be much better. Up here you cant use a scope to shoot or shoot after sunset so a scope isnt doing us any good.

Well at that price range I don’t think I’ll get one just to see how they work. I know a guy who has one on a .22 for shooting rats. I never thought they were that much.
