1911 Colt 45 ACP marked US Government Property US Army. Checked serial number which shows manf as 1917. Surprising good shape except for gaudy grip panels but they have the Colt emblem on them. They look like pewter or steel with a raised Eagle on one side and a Latin phrase on the other.

Could be either pewter or maybe silver. The S&W forum had a few threads on these style of grips possibly done in Mexico. Frank
