9mm loads for a Canik with a can.

    Hi
For a friend of a friend I’m doing research on how to get a el cheapo brand of Can to cycle on a Canik. It is a TP9sfx. The can is available on FB so you know that there is no built in booster. The gun will cycle with factory and reload ammo with out the can As soon as the can goes on it will not budge to cycle the expended round. Other research says it’s the tilting of the barrel is being restricted by extra weight? They are in the 115-124 gr projectiles. None are over factory power. I do see some scratches on manual expended brass that indicates some drag/friction somewhere but I don’t think that’s my problem. Is there a way to increase pressure safetly to improve or even solve this issue? They rack in and out manually with out issue. I know bad equipment gets bad results but the price was right lol. Will bigger Boolits and or fast/slow powder help?

You might have success with a heavier (think 147 grain) boolit and a slower powder, e.g. AA#7, Power Pistol, HS-6 or Herco. Spread the recoil impulse out over a slightly longer period and maybe it can overcome friction and inertia to cycle the slide, while still staying subsonic.

However, I know nothing of the Canik pistols, and I have only slight experience with a Glock 17 set up with a commercial can of forgotten make, which was also troublesome but did run pretty well with a 147 FMJ.

You're going to need a booster. There's pretty much no way around that. You've added a lot of weight to the barrel.

Is this a commercial suppressor or an illegal "filter/solvent trap" suppressor?
