I found a 30-06 rifle manufactured by Colt and I don't know anything about rifles made by them. The rifle appears to be well made with a good stock and bedding. Does anyone have experience with Colt rifles? Are they accurate?
thanks

I had one which was made by Sauer & Son. The workmanship was exquisite, the bluing was on par with an old Python. I did not care for the style of the stock but the gun was very accurate as in sub minute capable with decent ammo.

To paraphrase Ronald Reagan, the trouble with many shooting experts is not that they're ignorant; its just that they know so much that isn't so.
.
Colt branded non-AR CF rifles, besides the Sauer, were the Colt Coltsman (bolygun built on a Mauser 98/FN- type action), and the Colt Light Rifle (built on a boltgun Forbes/NULA action), and the Colt Model 57 (built on a Belgian Mauser 98/FN- type boltgun action) - and the Colt Sharps single-shot rifles
IDK which "Colt" rifle you're questioning - pics ?

this was a Coltsman with an FN Mauser action with a side safety. The price was stiff...$750

A buyer can afford only what they can afford, but an FN rifle is the Gold Standard for commercial Mauser 98 type rifles, used (besides Colt) by Browning & Weatherby - and, the .30-06 is never a mistake.
IMO, considering the $400 "economy" .30-06 boltguns available today, $750 for a Coltsman is very fair - and might be a bargain, with a little haggling on the price.
(Colt Ultralights are worth at least $1K; Colt/Sharps at least $2K)

pietro....thanks for the thoughts...
I have two 30-06 rifles ,,,one with a Mauser 98 action and one with a FN Belgium action. They are "average" rifles but with good stocks and decent barrels. With J's they are 1.3 MOA at 100 yds. I passed on the Coltsman.
