    need some advice good alloy for casting shot

    I have decided to start making my own lead shot.
    My plan is modify a blackstone gas fired griddle and use the nozzles sold on ebay.
    What is a good alloy to use - or does it matter
    also - does anyone have a suggestion as to what to alloy bismuth with - I would like to cast some shot for waterfowl too.

    You're best bet is COWW.
    I've made shot with pure Pb, it took quite a bit of experimentation but I finally achieved success. The shot wasn't perfectly round, but I'm not proficient enough to tell the difference.

    Coww is the best as mentioned. I have gotten good shot from range scraps aswell.

    As stated above ~ COWW worked for me. I made a very crude (really crude!) but effective shot maker many years ago and used straight COWW. If you get issues with flow maybe add some tin or 50/50 bar solder but mine worked with straight COWW so start there and give it a go.
