Has anyone tried this jig, did it work well for you? ( P80 Universal Jig )

have not tried that one but did a boatload of research on jigs before buying mine. my conclusion was that the jigs that relied on drill bits to do the work were vastly inferior to the ones that used a router and actual mill bit. a lower can be ruined if it gets out of spec, the insides slip side to side. I paid good money for a 5d jig and if you take your time, its very hard to tell a finished 80% from a factory.

Tip. If using a drill press that hasn't been used in awhile, make sure everything is nice and tight. I guess didnt check close enough after the move. The polymer ones do not take much to make them worthless. I am glad I used that one first to get a feel as I will use router jigs here on out. Good luck

Keeping my fingers crossed and will say a little prayer before giving it a try. Shop is way too cold to attempt it at the moment.

Haven't used the one you mention but have the other 3.
5D Tactical, 80% Arms Gen 3, Modulus Arms

5D Tactical has gone with the skeleton side plates, fiber Router Top plate (of some sort)
various people are a little upset that they made the switch without telling people, but have
updated the site to provide that nfo.

80% Arms Gen3 has the skeleton side plates, but the top route plate is aluminum

Modulus Arms has solid side plates (current version may have skeleton side plates) and but have..aluminum top router plate.

of them the Modulus Arms first, 80% Gen3, 5D Tactical in that order

take your time, use plenty of cutting oil (not tapping), and you will be okay..
hash marks by half (chatter) makes a better cut...

    here's a comparision of the jig's
