GC dimensions are designed to mimic original Hornady GC (see photo below with dimensions)
Notice: height of GC is 2.4mm-2.5mm (2.1mm is original Hornady). You need 2mm shank length.

They fit all my MP Molds 30cal bullet shanks with clearance, snug fit like original. Please check your shanks (see diagram at the end)

Diagram with dimensions, if your shank is wider you will have to compensate with thickness of material. Samples Al&Cu (0.4mm) are included in box so you can immediately check if this tool is for you and what material you need.

0.35 to 0.43mm (0.017”) is recommended thickness of material. Designed to fit GC bullets.

I'm interested. Got any instructions or videos of it in action?

What's a good source for copper or aluminum in the right thickness? If I could use empty soft drink cans to make checks it would be a great buy.

Aluminium or copper strips of proper thickness are recommended for proper function of tool and final dimensions. If cans are 0.0157” to 0.017” thick and you make flat smooth strips out of them, then yes. Otherwise not advisable. Send me email and I will send you video of tool in action punching GCs

Please read. It’s not so simple. I recommend buying material of proper thickness, cutting it into strips and making perfect GC. Aluminium is cheaper and very very easy to cut even at max thickness 0.43mm

    Found this for $43 shipped:

    https://www.amazon.com/SOOKi-99-9-Co...0863S45CX?th=1

    Would that work?

How wide are the strips the die takes? I'm guessing 1/2" or less for a 30 caliber check, so my back of the napkin math (200mm/7.87in x 1000mm/39.37in = 309.84 sq in / .25 sq in = 1239 checks) that's about $0.03 each. Assuming no waste because the shape of the roll divides evenly into strips.

    Aluminum is $23 for a narrower strip, so math (100mm/3.94in x 1000mm/39.37in = 155.12 sq in / .25 sq in = 620 checks), makes them about $0.04 each.

    About like that?

15mm (0.6”) is minimal width of strip for one row. Mine are 15-16mm. They work also for 44 GC.

The best is to make strip around 30-32mm (1.25”) for double row that will fit between press and tool.

So you put the check on bare lead, then PC over the check? Do you use a push-through sizer after that?

    Exactly.
Put GC on bare shanks. GC must slide on shank. Tap tap if necessary. Crimp it with push-through Lee style sizing die. PC. Size to desired diameter.

If using aluminium or slightly thinner material (forget about coke cans) you will probably be able to put it also on PC’d bullet, then just size and you are done.

That’s why thickness of material and having standard dimension shanks are important, but everything can be adjusted and it’s up to you to find what is best. I can guarantee GC’s have same properties / dimensions as original Hornady GC, except height is 2.4-2.5mm (original 2.1mm).

As I said, strong rigid reloading press as RCBS RC is preferable.
