10mm Auto from 6.8mm Rem Spc

Has anyone tried this? Looks like it might work. Could require inside neck reaming.

Not sure, cause I figure you could trade 2:1 or 3:1 for 10mm

Should be doable, they were both based off the .30 Remington. But why? The 10mmis still available from Starline.

I have done a lot of .338 Spectre (10mm mag necked down) from 6.8 spc and it is a pain. Definitely would have to inside ream and also anneal the brass. Like the others have said it is not worth it unless it is your last option.

Sounds like a lot of work to me. 10 mm brass isn't all that hard to find see ads in swapin and selling on a fairly regular basis.

Definitely trade for 10 mm, plenty of 10 out there, 6.8, not so much.

Sometimes people just like to do things to learn how to do it. Years ago my brother bought a book on reforming brass. We spent a cold winter week making ammo for things we didn't even own to see if we could.

Unless it is something extremely rare or obscure, or something that is relatively obscure which can be performed easily from something as common as dirt, case forming seems a stupid waste of time to me. When I got a .222, I figured forming cases from .223, which I can go to any public range and leave with all I can carry away for free. After doing it a few times, I concluded .222 brass is nowhere near rare enough to justify that PITA process.

To make fairly common pistol brass from somewhat obscure rifle brass just seems to define dumb waste of time, energy and brass to me.

Don’t ruin good 6.8 brass. Especially if it’s Large primers. That stuff is hard to find I buy all I can. Most use small primers.

East Coast Reloading has 10mm OFB - 250 @ $39.99 plus shipping and 6.8 Remington SPC 250 @ $90.00 plus shipping (OK 25 @ $9.00, they might not have 250 in stock). Why indeed.

Saw this at the top and figure the OP put the post in the right place. Following with interest for only the reason that you can. I love to read threads that propose stuff like this.
