    Maybe 12" Oh Fun

    Couldn't sleep
    So I was killing time
Out of boredumb I looked at the weather forecast

Up to 3" of Snow this morning
A few hours of a break
Then up to 9" more of Snow

    For me , no problem
3 or 4 times a day I put wood in the furnace

But for anyone that needs to get to work
Good Luck IMO , IF we get the foot of snow
I bet some people will not get to work for 3 or 4 days

    First with any wind
The County and Township snowplows will not stand a chance
As my Township has 1 snowplow

I live on a County road , sure they have more snowplows
But also a Lot more miles of roads to plow
Just down the road there is some brush just off the road , not much but the exact wrong place and height
Many years there are 3'-4' deep drifts there
But that drift is covering 1/4 mile of road
About 10 years back my truck was parked on top of that drift for 2 days
Till Dad and I were able to get a large tractor close enough to pull it off of the drift
6 AM heading to work , I never saw the drift
Till all 4 of my truck tires were well off the ground

Last good winter for snow , the county brought in a BIG frontend loader 3 times to dig out the road

SNOW the New 4 letter word to Band ?? LOL

I would expect that in Ohio. Lived most of my life in Michigan.

We got 2" of snow, yesterday, in north central Arkansas. Another 3-5" expected today. Then the second punch is expected to begin Wednesday (3-5") and another 1-3" overnight. The county is not prepared to handle snow, here.

BTW, todays high is not expected to get out of the single digits, currently 2 degrees. Won't reach reach the freezing mark till at least Friday. The snow and cold isn't going anywhere fast.

When I lived in Montreal, With a foot or more of snow, I was driving in to my Gym for 6 am and walked the 2 blocks to work at 8. The little bit of ice pellets ( less than 1 in) last night should keep us off the roads for at least 4 days, maybe more.

just came up for air after doing 13 hour shifts plowing in northeast colorado for the last 4 days. our patrol started with 4 working trucks and by sunday we were down to 1 and it would have been 0 but for having some extra blades, the bean counters dont want anybody to have any extra stuff because its not good financially.

It just proves that God still controls some things. (But given time,, the politicians will try & figure out a way to take over that too!)

Well,, maybe not control the weather,, but they have figured out ways to control the people when weather threatens things.

Two winter ago we got 12" one night and another 24" two nights later. But being prepared ( 1 ton dually with a 7' Fisher plow) and it took half an hour or so to clear my 150 yard drive way. Then another 30/40 minutes to clear the widow next door 200 yard drive way.

LOL Shoveling Another 4 letter word
As for the driveway , I borrow Dad's 100 HP tractor with a 10' blade
    So that takes 3-4 min

I do have to shovel 15' from the back door to the garage man door
BUT the last few times it has snowed
I have not even done that shoveling
I just push the inside overhead garage door button and go in that way ( Quick and easy LOL)

Up till this year if it snowed it was oh well, I can stay home for a few weeks as I am retired. GF moved in last summer and works. I had to buy a plow for my lil Kubota and get to clear 3/4 mile down to the road several times before she can leave for work around 5:45 am. Pretty sure the trade off was worth it - so far

If I never see another bit of snow I'll be happy. A few years ago we had 2 blizzards back to back and I still wake up at night screaming .

We're expecting maybe 10" all told in the next day, nothing major. But we did our grocery shopping today since we won't drive on a snowday. We're retired and just don't need to go anywhere so we stay home . Anyway, today we drove into town and the supermarket was very busy with panicky shoppers.

My brother has a theory since by him (NJ) milk, bread, and eggs sell out. He figures French Toast is suburban survival food. Lots of bread, milk, and eggs left up here (Maine). Depending on when the storm stops I'll plow snow for a few hours, probably Wednesday. It's no big deal. But I still look at the angle of the sun and feel it's heat and know that winter will soon be a thing of the past. Yay!

Well your morning snow has finally made its way across lake erie and is here now. They have a warning for our area maybe 11 inches by tomorrow night, but I doubt we'll see half that much cause the weatherman is never right.

I can guarantee it won't be as bad as 2014 when 9 feet dropped in 3 days.

I am also retired. Bought my wife an Outback by Subaru and put 4 studded snow tires on it. She does not wake me when she goes to work. She gets where my 4W drive pick-up does not.

Dry winters generally go hand in hand with summertime drought. I think we'll be OK this year.

I'm amazed at what my old CRV will do. AWD is quite the thing.

We get the sold out bread, milk and hot pockets here. First time we saw it when a hurricane was maybe going to show up we were baffled as we never heard of such a thing in Vermont. Still get a kick out of it.
