Regardless of cartridge, one less to have to put up with.

Where I'm located in Oklahoma, we didn't have any problems controlling wild pigs until some yahoo's decided to 'import' a few out of Texas (15 miles to the state line). They were turned loose on both private and public lands. Seems some folks saw money in it selling hog hunts on leases. I don't know of anyone that wants to own up to being the ones that did it though.

In-laws are out past Watonga and farm. Had the same problem, somebody deciding to "import" some so they could charge $$ to hunt them. Needless to say, got way out of hand.

Golly, I can’t believe you killed a pig with less than a 300 grain .44 magnum bullet.
    Oh wait, yes I do.
    Thanks! Carry on.

    Well done.

I had a real freckle twitching feeling; ponying up to a big one with grandpa’s single shot boys rifle.Winchester 1902or 1904.
I snuck away and left it.

I have been more successfull and confident with a repeater or a trombone action for some reason.
Not that the first shot don’t count it’s that perceived security that you can stand your ground and fill’ Em with lead.
    Ha

It’s funny now If I am to shoot some stinky ‘ol pig I would use my 30/30 with a pinch of fast burning powder instead of wasting good and expensive rimfire ammo.
