Wanted -Simple recipe for 12-ga. Round ball in full choke Beretta Companion

Sorry, I could not get through the thread drift on the other discussion. My buddy in Italy loads 5 grams of black powder in brass cases with no plastic or card & fiber wads column, but simply patched soft lead round ball 1/20mm larger than the choke diameter at the muzzle. Kills boar fine. Has anyone attempted this with smokeless?

The Companion is very light 5 pound gun. I don't want a heavy load. I was thinking half the charge for a 12-ga. Trap load, say 13 grains of Red Dot?

    Longbow, are you there?

Thanks, Randy. A valuable data point to begin a smokeless load once I get mold and patch combination that fits my Magtech cases, when they arrive. Lee .69 double-cavity round ball mold is on the way from Log Cabin Shop in Lodi, OH, along with assortment of pre-cut lubricated patches in various thicknesses. I will try black powder first to benchmark. My Beretta folder has a chrome-lined bore, so cleanup should be easy. Stay tuned...

Did some of this with a Damascus 12 bore WC Scott awhile back. Both barrel are FC. .690 ball with overpowder/cushion and overshot wad. The ball had a very thin cloth patch and the charge was ballpark 80 gr Swiss 1.5 fg. The recoil was mild and the group at 30 yds was about 6” for both barrels as one. Also loaded some #4 buck and #8 shot. I was not disappointed.
