    Trying to "age" Remington 722

    I am looking at a Rem 722 at a gun shop and would like to know its age.
    Its a 222 Rem s/n 33958x
    I cant find serial number list along with dates of manufacture.
    Do I need also a barrel code?
    I would think it should not be hard to determine, but maybe I'm wrong.

    The SN matters if the Remington has switch-barrel capacity (many folks buy a 2nd bbl for their autoloader & pump shotguns).

    Remington customer service was the only source of obtaining the DOM via SN - but with new owners, who knows what production records got transferred to the new owners.
