What is the diameter of the GC shank as cast?
    Boolit drops at .226
    Shank measures .212
    GC inner diameter .215
    GC outer diameter .235
    GC .010 thick

The bullets alone going through the sizer just glide through...... very little effort.

Add the gas check and it requires a stiff pull. The OD of .235 seems like a lot to size back to .225 but with an ID of .215 and .010 thickness that what it is.

Guess I'll seat them check first causing convex check and fat nose and see how they perform.

They did pretty bad with no check and with the rimmed check.

    Why do this?
Sometimes, sizing a boolit with a undersized GC shank, the shank will expand a bit, most of this depends on how much force is needed to push the boolit through the die the first time.
    Agreed.

of the choice of the two pictured.. I'd go base first. a wide meplat is decent for hunting.. although.. yes.. something is deffinately up. What alloy is being used? I wonder if it is on the soft side...
