    Hilti gun blanks ?

Can anyone use these I have quite a few spent ones at work for our big hilti fastener gun that are the 7mm size dimensions are

    Rim .325
    Body .290
    OAL. .700

For those who don't know what they look like its like a big dia. 22 shot shell
If anyone can use these let me know and you can have them for free just pay the postage

The problem with them, as I recall, is that they are star crimped on the front end, and not easy to work with for swaging.
Or, am I remembering the wrong product?

Yep that's what they are in those red plastic strips . And they are/were star crimped but figured they could be ironed out straight . Like I said anyone can use them let me know

There are actually three common sizes of power loads (I repair powder drive guns from time to time on my day job): .22, for the "homeowner" class tools, alway sold loose, .25, usually sold in strips, and .27, sold in either strips (Hilti) or disks (Ramset). The spent cases are pretty difficult to separate from the Ramset disks (the disk is metal, and the loads are quite tight), but they're easy to punch out of any of the strips.

As noted, even after firing the star crimp doesn't open up enough to be easy to convert to jackets, but you might be able to open them out with a conical point spinning in a drill press as you push it into the case mouth. The .25 cases might make useful jackets for .257 and 6.5 mm, but they're short enough they'll only work with light bullets. The .27 cases might work for .270, and should be good for 7mm -- but again, they're short enough you'll only be able to make pretty light bullets.

It's a lot less work to form gas checks from sheet material with suitable tools. The reason spent rimfire shells are used for jackets is that they're already precision drawn into cups.
