My Brownel’s Oxpho blue froze solid, it is still good?

Ordered it from Amazon. Ups handed off to Usps today and intern it got shoved in my mailbox. I never bothered checking my mail box till a couple minutes ago and found a frozen solid bottle of Oxpho blue in it. Nineteen below with windchill this evening. Amazon said I wouldn’t get it till Monday so I figured I had nothing but paper mail delivered today. Will it still be good once it thaws or is it junk? It’s the liquid product not the paste.

I wouldn't panic. Let it thaw at room temperature, maybe assisted by setting it near the wood stove or furnace duct. Check it to make sure the bottle didn't split. Once it's warmed, shake it good and try it on a test piece.

Ya need to try it, but it should be OK when it warms back up.

Just woke up. The bottle is still ice cold but seems to have thawed. It doesn't look cracked. I'll have to try it later today. It doesn't say anything about cold temps or freezing on the MSDS sheet but it said to keep it away from heat.

It's probably fine. 1-800-741-0015, Brownells tech line, call and ask them to make sure.

Have you signed up for the USPS delivery notification? I like to be able to see what is expected daily, and it helps me know what doesn't arrive as expected.

Mine has been frozen dozens of times out in my shop. Works fine.
The solid soft lead bullet is undoubtably the best and most satisfactory expanding bullet that has ever been designed. It invariably mushrooms perfectly, and never breaks up. With the metal base that is essential for velocities of 2000 f.s. and upwards to protect the naked base, these metal-based soft lead bullets are splendid.

Its a simple chemical, acid, alkali, phosphoric, something like that. It won't curdle or separate.

It worked just fine. I applied 5 or more coats to my 1902 barreled action. The gun looks like new.

It worked good for trying to replicate case hardening effect as well.

Could you explain how you imitated case hardening, I really like how that looks.

I watched this video to learn how...

    https://youtu.be/pMz91TjaBXw

It did darken a lot after I sprayed down with Rem Oil. So it doesn’t look as awesome as it did in the photos above. Apparently the metal darkens over time. It still looks really nice though. Next time I might try and spray some clear coat over the finish instead of oiling it to see if it still stays bright blue with bronze accents. It’s basically just different shades of dark blue now unless I hold it up to bright light.

I never tied it, but I'd read somewhere that some arms makers did theirs by heating the metal parts, and then dunking them in fish oil.
Not sure if it was for the finish, or part of the tempering/hardening process.
