White Label 45-45-10 Velocity?

I really like 45-45-10 lube. I am wondering how fast I can push Lyman #2 alloy gas checked bullets and still not get leading. My loads for 30-30 and 375 Winchester are going 2000- 2200 fps and so far working good but I don’t really know what leading looks like. Thanks!

If the load is accurate for ten or more consecutive shots, it isn't leading.

If the bore looks wet and black after firing and leaves a sooty grease star on the muzzle which you can wipe off with your finger, it isn't leading.

If you can push a dry patch through the barrel smoothly, it isn't leading.

But if the patch requires effort to push through the bore, and looks gray and powdery, with shiny flecks of metal on it
therein lies a clue!

If group size doubles between the first five shots and the next five shots, therein lies another clue!

I have never pushed the 45-45-10 that hard. The fastest I've gone is just over 1500 with a plain based boolit in a 30-06

I was getting ready for a lever action match so I cast some #2 Lyman alloy bullets for my .30-30. I don't shoot my Marlin .30-30 much except for the lever matches. I loaded a few rounds that clocked right at 1990 - 2010 fps avg and found keyholes through the paper. I shot some more to recover the bullets to get a look at them to see what was going on.
What I found you see in photo 1, bullet 1 and 3 from the left ended up longer than a unfired one plus some serious stripping. I reduced the load to 1900 and that is bullet #4 bullets 2 and 5 are unfired. ! and # actually got stretched longer than the unfired.
I ended up at 1650 fps and they looked good and shot good.
