Bought some today, nuked one for
lunch, chewed on it. It was OK, but
not what I would want on a regular basis.
What else do ya do with it?
Next I think I'll boil 'em up for the
broth and put some noodles in
for a soup.
Suggestions please.

I would think you would use it like a smoked ham hock in beans or soup.

I put it in the trash. I have enough fat from other sources. If I had smoked it, and wanted flavor, I would add it to what ever I add bacon to.

Is this slang for something? Why would you ever cut a tail off of a turkey to cook separate?
Are you taking about the turkey "poopek" That is the "Pope nose" of the turkey that holds the tail feathers? Carthlidgte and fat ...Yumm!

Never nuke meat. Drop it in a fryer for a minute if you have one, or stick it under the broiler for a few minutes. The tail is usually my appetizer and never makes it to the table. Headed to the basement right now to get a bird out to thaw...
Smoked turkey tail,,,,, somehow that sounds somewhere between 'just wrong, and obscene'.

Back to your oars. The Captain wants to waterski.
Walmart seems to have it on a
regular basis.
My hard-corps Lutheran Grand mother called it the "Pope's Nose". It was her favorite.
Fact: Some people are alive simply because it's illegal to kill them.
They get cut off and put in the trash when we cook a turkey
My favorite receipt is to cook it in the deep fryer when I cook “Cajun turkey”. I’ve never bought or fried the tails separately, but certainly would; I’ve never found them sold individually.
I toss it in the stock pot to simmer down...
Stock pot ... there isn't much if any meat on a tail .
Take the stock , made from turkey carcass , and make some turkey and sausage Gumbo ...
Now you got some real eating there !

After Thanksgiving I always take the turkey carcass, onion and celery cuttings not used in the recipes, and boil in an 18 qt. Magnalite stock pot. Some of the dressing is still on the rib bones and such. Make a a rich broth I freeze and use in chicken n dumplings and gumbo. Lot better than the thin store stuff.
