    I Wish Marlin Would Make...

Now that Marlin has been bought by Ruger, maybe they can put that whole "Remlin" era behind them and start afresh.

That being said, what would you like to see Marlin offer that they don't currently? I would like to see:

    • A reappearance of the .308 Marlin and .338 Marlin

    • An 1894 in .41 Magnum and .256 Winchester

    • Bring back the 39A

    Put a 1 in 20" twist with standard-rifling barrel on the 1894 .44magnum.

Offer a slimmer, thinner wood forearm for their lever actions.

AND, put the rifles together correctly!!!

Beef up the whole SASS line for sure. Some nice straight stock and BP cartridge options with your choice of rifling.

From a completely different direction, build a well done MSR alternative out of the box. I'm thinking nitride finish, threaded, 16-18" barrel lengths, handguard with keymod/1913 options, integral rail on the receiver, comes with windage adjustable peep and a good front sight (I'm partial to M1 or AR15), and offer some more "tacticool" chamberings as well as .30-30. Or perhaps best put, survey the market and take the best features of what they were doing, what Henry and Mossberg are up to, fine tune it, then roll out something.

    A 24" Model 336A with a slim forend.

A good Model 60 with full length mag tube.

    .

I'm just wondering if Ruger will introduce their 96/22 & 96/44 leverguns under the Marlin badge - but with Walnut stocks ILO stained Birch.

I've been waiting for decades for someone to make a lever action 22 hornet.
the Henry bbs 41 mag is a fine gun, but I guess from what I understand there was little demand for it and has been dropped from catalog --

A better version of the Camp 9 carbine. And add a Camp 40. Needs to be under $600 and use Glock mags.

Great for home defense and plinking.

    An excellent observation IMHO.
Will Ruger actually manufacture Marlins as promised?

A Marlin 1881 chambered in .45 Gov't 28 inch half octagon barrel full mag elegant No. 5 engraving and "checking" with 6 groove 1 turn in 24 inch rifling and high grade walnut stock and forend. All of this for $250, of course! Fitted with a dovetail mounted Leica red dot sight as a battle rifle for the coming tribulation.
An 1889 carbine chambered in ".38 W" 20" octagon bbl. full mag plain American walnut stock and forend with a shotgun buttstock and scout scope...probably Leupold? This would be for saddle use and fitted to a fine leather scabbard to be used in the Cavalry charge of the coming end of days battle.
And , of course, a high grade 1894 in .32 WCF rifle with 26 inch half oct bbl., 2/3 magazine and Marbles tang sight with a Circassian Walnut stock and forend checkered in ribbon and leaf style. This rifle would be designated, of course, to clean up the squirrels remaining after the great battle for freedom!
Crazy? OK, check back on this in 10 years...these firearms would only be for sale to Gentlemen, and Ladies, bearing a handlebar moustache and appropriately attired with ascot tie and topped with a Bowler hat, of course! Thanks for listening.
Now, will Ruger really make Marlins? Don't touch that dial!

Firearms that went through quality control.
    Firearms that matched the blueprints.
Then when the above is correct start with a good, popular bread and butter firearm, the 39a and its variants. $550.00 or so.

All of the CL's, in 218, 25-20, 32-20 and 32 H&R. Possibly 22 Hornet. Just add a twisted magazine like Rem 14/141. Its too small for 32 Fed. Last Marlin 32 H&R was far too heavy.
