A single shot of some type (break open, rolling block, high/low wall) in the low price range chambered for the older rimmed rounds ( hornet, 25/20, 32/20, 25/35, 256 win, 219 zipper). A break open H R or Savage 219 style with extra barrels would be nice and keep it under $300.

I'll also add an updated m25 pump rifle that is easy to repair . The originals were great and I love mine but there are no parts around and even if there were they are not easy to work on and nobody wants to that I can find .

Remington 600 , not sure how short the action was. It was available in normal calibers but the rare ones for ammo are 6.5 Rem Mag and the .350 Rem Mag made from 1964-1968 . They later made the 660, 600 Mohawk and the 663 . Always thought I wanted a 600 carbine in .350 Mag until I shot one belonging to someone else , too much for too little !

Not sure , but they may have also had a short action rifle for some of the short fat Winchester rounds in .223,.243,.25 WSSM and 7mm , .300 , and .325 WSM . I think they called their version the SAUM in the #7 Rifle .

Oh yeah! I forgot about that one. I'd really like one in 35 cal.

I own a 1967’ 600 chambered in 243. Sixteen inch barrel and lighter than a Daisy BB gun. All original accept for the rifle basis trigger set under 2 pounds. I glass bedded the action as well. Last time I shot it cloverleaved at 100 yards with a load I had loaded up for one of my other gun! It drives tacks. Eventually I’ll use it for a walking predator gun. I currently have a leupold 3-9 100th anniversary optic on it with the 2 extra ballistic drops. They made a few in 35 Rem and 223 which go for big money. I’d take a 35 Rem and 223 600 over the 350 Rem Mag in that little light rifle.

I own limited run 35 Rem and 35 whelen 7600 carbines.

I always thought Remington never really brought the model Seven to it's full potential. I see a definite market for the 7 in rifle cartridges that have been neglected over the years like .22 Hornet, .221 Fireball, .250 and .300 Savage, maybe even .35 Remington. Heck, how about .25-20 and .32-20? After all, Ruger still makes the 77 in .22 Hornet, .357, and .44 so someone must like them.
    Currently casting and loading: .32 Auto, .380 Auto, .38 Special, 9X19, .357 Magnum, .257 Roberts, 6.5 Creedmoor, .30 WCF, .308 WCF, .45-70.

I believe that H&R ended up with the same company that owns Palmetto.

Oh yeah, bring back components like the excellent primers and PowrLokt and CoreLokt bullets......
Remington ammunition went to ATK ie Federal/CCI/Speer. The company that bought the Remington Illion NY plant and guns seemed to be in trouble with the purchase.

I don't think Roundhill is in trouble with the purchase...yet. I do think it was kinda interesting to think they could be an 'at will' employer in a union town/state. I was surprised they didn't immediately move all the equipment the way Ruger did with the Marlin stuff.

R700 CDL stainless fluted,6mm Rem and a short action is fine, would be shooting 85g Saeco in it with a full case of IMR4831. Would make one heckuva good CB walking varmint rig. Nothing too big on the optics,a 4.5-14 would be peachy.

A good quality American made cap and ball revolver would be a great addition. The Ruger old army has been gone for years now, and I'm not aware of any domestic replicas at the moment. That pictued 1863 pocket pistol would be sweet, I would buy one.

I am surprised at the number of people who want a rolling block. This too was the first thing that came to my mind. I think this is one of the more realistic options here, there is quite the push for higher quality single shot rifles.

I really doubt we will ever see the likes of the XP-100 again. Like the Savage Striker, they were nothing more than a cheat around outdated hunting laws. Both more or less disappeared when the slightly more reasonable TC Encore came out in high power bottleneck rifle cartridge "pistol" configurations. Most states now have either got rid of "shotgun/handgun" only hunting areas, or are at least in the process of it.

Another vote for a Rolling Block , while I am dreaming I would like it in a light recoiling round .

Thats the Model 7 action. Same length as the XR100 single shot rifle. Made in a number of calibers. You might be thinking of the 673, it was made in 350 mag and other calibers. Brass is hard to come by, but I found ammo at the Tulsa show for $25/box max. over the years. You can make brass from 7mm Rem mag, I have heard
