    New to casting and forum

Howdy, new to the forum and casting, lifelong shooter. Already learned in the short time I have been here. Looking forward to casting my first round ball for my newly acquired Hawken and some 9mm for smokeless shooting as well.

    Welcome Steve!

Good to see you've decided to join the site. I was casting on my own (with no mentor) for 20 years before I joined this site back in 2006. I learned more in the first 18 months here, than I'd learned in all those 20 years on my own. In fact, I'm still learning. Feel free to ask any questions, someone with some experience in what you're dealing with will be along eventually to help.

Welcome aboard. Fun place with lots of knowledge and experience freely given. There are no bad questions, so don't be shy. Like Murphy, I started casting for my ML's decades ago and did just fine. After finding this site, I've learned so much and have improved my casting dramatically.

    Welcome.

I too used to cast for several years before I came here.
I did OK, but my biggest accomplishment before '07 was how to call the tinsel fairy
to come in periodically and redecorate the walls & ceiling in the shop.

Welcome, keep in mind 9MM is a difficult caliber to cast for from what I've read here. I have not yet cast for that caliber but with the acquisition of a Luger recently, I may delve into it also.

Read, practice, repeat as necessary, and enjoy.

Welcome Aboard! I used to think why in the world would anyone want to fight this casting thing until around 2012 and thought I'd might want to try it just in case all the ammo dried up (like now) I've fought and cursed it but I've learned a lot and enjoy it. As has been said before there is a lot of info here and lots of good people that are willing to help. Jump in and enjoy the fun. If I may, if you're going to try the 9mm, take a look at the Lee 6-Cavity Bullet Mold 356-120-TC It's a 120 Grain Truncated Cone that I found easy to cast with and drops good bullets like rain. Midway USA (and others) carry it but they are out of stock right now,. Here it is at Midway https://www.midwayusa.com/product/1010201652?pid=294531

    Welcome aboard FarmerInTheDell,

Yes sir, you'll find out pretty much any and everything you need in regards to casting and your other endeavors here. I had been casting on my own (self taught) for 20 years before joining the site. I learned more in the next 18 months from the crew here, than I'd learned on my own. Questions, ask away! Someone will eventually be able to point you in the right direction.
