Shooters World BUFFALO RIFLE powder for 45/70 38/55

Powder is easy to find. Powder you want not so much. I had not heard of this powder before today. I picked up 3 lbs to try. Anyone using this powder?

I realy like the buffalo bore and them powders better then say hodgen. Burns cleaner and seams to be more accurate. The only place I can find it or get it is at the Gun shows. Not realy alot of reload info for cast. What I do I start low charge for the boolet weight and go from their. Reloading data on-line: www.explosia.cz

Buffalo Rifle powder is the equivalent of 5744. My 1876 in 45/75 loves it.

Buffalo Rifle Powder is to 5744 what Hp38 is to Win 231 or H-110 to 296 One and the same. Made by Lovex powders. Gp

Isn't there a Lovex designation for Shooting World powders somewhere on the labels? My QuickLoad program offers Lovex as a powder choice.

It’s all here. SW load manual, Lovex load manual, and Quick load data files.

    I use their Precision powder(Lovex S062).

I used the Buffalo Rifle powder for my .45-70 and found it to be extremely accurate, I bought some to try, then bought #3 more (when you could get it).

Is not 5744 made in Canada?

I use 5744 under the "Dominion" Brand - "made in Canada" Same data as Accurate 5744, same velocity, same group size

10x: It very well may be today. Lots of powders have been manufactured by more than one powder company with slightly different formulas over the years. Burn rates are pretty close in most instances but not exact. I've never had a problem using 5744 data with buffalo rifle powder in at least five different rounds. Gp

I am planning on using it in my 30-06 when I get some cast bullets to load.
