I have a custom Martini 25/35 and use 100gn RCBS.
Hold Still Varmint; while I plugs Yer!
My 348 likes 65 grains of surplus 4831 or 59 grains of IMR 4350 behind the Hornady 200 grain bullet. I recently acquired an old Herters mold that casts a 199 grain gas checked wheel weight metal bullet that I sized to .351 lubed with NRA 50/50 lube. I've only shot ten rounds of the cast loaded with 20 grains of 2400. At 25 yards it left much to be desired. With my old eyes and lack of follow-through the group, if you can call it that, was about 2" x 3". Or at 100 yards it would be about minute of washtub. When the weather breaks I hope to try some different loads.
BIG OR SMALL I LIKE THEM ALL, 577 TO 22 HORNET.
I don't have a 25-35, but I have it's brother from a different mother, a .25 rem. M-14. Wonderful cartridge. Some day I would like to find a Hi-Wall in .25-35, or build a small ring Mauser in .25 Rem.
I have a Siamese Mauser I customized and rebarreled to 348 Winchester and all I shoot are 200 grain cast bullets.
Dang, I'd like to get my hands on a Martini. It's one of those things that has been nagging at me for awhile now. I think 25-35 is a perfect power level for a gun like that. jd
