I use Unique for all my CB rifle loads, from the .243 Win. -> the .45-70 Govt. (not in the same amounts though). I get clean burning, accurate results in all, else I would be looking for another propellant.

Do a search for "the load" or 'Red Dot in rifles".
There are several sights and pages on it.

Green Dot also does well for rifle plinking rounds.

Truthfully, I think most of the so called shotgun/pistol powders will work for most of what I do with cast in rifles.

10 grains of Red Dot in 270Win accounted for 2 deer this year. 6-7 grains of Red Dot is a good plain based load in 30-30.

7 grains of Red Dot for a 147 grain 30-30 bullet. 12 grains of Red Dot for a 300 grain .45-70 bullet.

I need to replenish my Red Dot supply but still rocking on several pounds of Unique. Both are amongst the Most Useful Powders. I've used Unique in every rifle cartridge I've owned and loaded for except .30 Carbine and 6.5 Remington- but I could have.

I've burned a lot of Red Dot (or Promo, same by weight), 13 grains at a time in a 30-06 under the Lee 170, gas checked. Shoots as well as I can see and hold.

By rights my avatar should be a can of Red Dot.

I have yet to find a rifle or pistol caliber that it won't work in. However, for semi auto rifles, Red Dot loads may not cycle the action.
IE SKS, You run into max pressure before you get enough gas to cycle regularly.

But turn the gas off and it works fine as a straight pull bolt. And the brass is a lot easier to find.

It does work fine in every pistol caliber carbine I've tried it in. Hipoint carbines in 9mm, .40sw, and .45acp function flawlessly and cycle anything.

I've gone as high as 13 grains in .444marlin and as low as 3 grains in .223 Rem. The vast majority of my rifle loads are in the 4.5-6.5 range.
I truly believe we need to get back to basics.

I use Red Dot/Promo, Green Dot, Unique, and Blue Dot. They worked fine in 30 WCF, 308 Win, 30-06, and 7.92x57mm.
I plan on trying Clay Dot and Longshot in the future.

I just bought my first pound of Red Dot , local LGS has both Red and Green on the shelf. Want to try it in .41 Mag and .32 Special with cast.

Yep both work well . I've always found better accuracy by lowering the red dot load a grain or two and upping the Unique load a few grains . IE 10-11 gr red dot and 12-15 grs of Unique with normal weight bullets . In 3030 size cases and larger
If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck!
