You can easily judge the character of others by how they treat those who they think can do nothing for them.
An old Cherokee was teaching his grandson about life. "Inside me two wolves fight," he told the boy.
"One is evil - he is anger, envy, greed, arrogance, self-pity, resentment, lies, false pride, and ego. The other is good - he is joy, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, generosity, truth and faith. The same fight is inside you - and every other person, too."
The grandson thought for a minute and asked,"Which wolf will win?"
The old Cherokee replied, "The one you feed."
Excellent ! I was going to ask why not add pins...

Nope, variac will not work on a capacitor start motor. Has to have brushes like a hand drill motor.
As to the pins. I used drill rod I use for punches. You locate where it needs to be drilled and drill a hole through the outside then into the center piece. Make sure the hole you drill is a couple thousands smaller than your pin. Tap in the pin. Then I took a punch and peened over the outside edge of the hole to prevent the pin from backing out.
i use the Precision Reloading metal 4 ramp roll crimper on my drill press at 600 rpm's without any problem. Most any drill press speed will work within reason as its all about the dwell time. When starting out the crimper is cold so more time needs spent toughing the hull mouth to warm the plastic and a slower crimp speed is needed to fold the roll. After 10 to 15 roll crimps the crimp tool is almost to hot to touch so very little time is needed to warm the hull mouth and it's a fast push on the drill press handle to form the roll crimp. I have heated the roll crimp tool but find by just moving slow for the first 5 or so crimps the tool gets enough heat without the hassle of using the heat gun on it.
A month or so ago I ordered the BPI 4 pin crimper but after using it on a half dozen hulls I decided I really didn't like the wide flat edge it left so I sent it back. My main issue for trying the BPI was I wanted a little more taper on the end of the shell then I am getting from the Precision crimper. I ended up setting up one of my unused Mec 650's for 3" and adjusted the final taper crimp die to give me the taper I was looking for.
