Around two AM Friday a fourteen year girl of our church and youth group woke up with a massive headache. She was taken to CHKD and diagnosed with a brain bleed and she died less than 12 hours later despite all the doctors could do. The CHKD Chaplin told our pastor that her family were a testimony to all that saw them - the depth of their faith.
Please keep New Covenant Presbyterian Church youth group, our youth pastor, and this family in your prayers, especially this coming week or two.

Father, I come to You as You are the Great Healer. Please be with this young ladies family, church, and friends as the grieve for her death. Please help them to focus on the good times they shared with her and all the good she did for the people she came into contact. Father, please give them comfort during this grief time. At Tessa's (the girl who died) request there will be no funeral. When the family came home the younger sister said to her parents "we have to look at Tessa's will" - the parents didn't know what she meant, but found that she had written that if she died young she wanted a celebration of life service instead of a funeral. That is scheduled Wed.

Just an update, the family is leaving today to drive to Florida to bury Tessa. Please continue to pray for them as they travel down and back.

Heavenly Father, I lift up this family during their time of loss. Thank you for their faith, and for the evident power you've carried them with. Thank you that You have victory over death! Prayers for the New Covenant Presbyterian Church youth group, the youth pastor, and this family as they grieve their loss. Prayers for safe traveling mercies to Florida and back.
