Lets talk VihtaVuori powder a monent ....

I have a couple canisters of N310 that I have had stored in the garage for 6 or 7 years. The containers were sealed and had never been opened. I had gotten this powder with the intent of loading .380's. I have started the .380 reloading process finally and I noticed this powder is kind of a moss green color. Most powders are a dark gray/black or a dark gray/graphite color. Is this the correct powder color for VihtaVuori powder ?? It doesn't smell acidity or acrid. It does have a smell, but part of it may be the plastic contain it is in. For those that use VV powders, are yours this greenish color also ?? I just want to make sure after stored in the garage with no temperature controls, that this hasn't gone bad.

I don't have any N310 on the shelf right now but I do have some VihtaVuori powder. I just poured a little out to confirm the color and it is very similar to what is in your photo.

    1. I suspect that powder is fine.
    2. Stop storing you powder in your garage.

Thanks Petrol for checking that for me !! I really appreciate it. The powder is now inside under my reloading bench. I'd like to find some N320 to try ..... No one hardly carries VV powders.

You should see some of the Vectan powders. Little turquoise squares.

The black/gray you see on powders are coatings, mainly graphite. The actual combustible part is a whiteish color.
